Background
Our History
Farmers Choice SACCO was incorporated in 1987 with CS/No 4877. It was formed to provide opportunities for personal growth of members by mobilizing savings, pooling financial resources and providing affordable credit facilities. The SACCO offers BOSA services to members drawn from the employees of Farmers Choice Ltd and its subsidiaries. SACCO employees are also eligible for membership .Farmers Choice SACCO is run through a general membership system. There is a Board of Directors which is structured into various sub committees. The SACCO has two members of staff entrusted with the day-to day management of the SACCO. The SACCO Office is located at Cemtek building in Kahawa west. There are currently no branches. Its core activity is savings mobilization and credit administration. The society banks with the Co-operative Bank of Kenya. Currently the Sacco is at 2,017 actively contributing members.
OUR OBJECTIVES
The SACCO was started with the following objectives which are true todate:
To mobilize savings and provide cheap credit to its members.
To eradicate poverty and improve the living standards of members.
To promote education of their children of their and fight illiteracy.
To overcome exploitation and harsh conditions provided by banks and other financial institutions.
To educate and enlighten members on better savings habits and investment to achieve financial developments.
Since its inception, Farmers Choice Sacco has gradually been on an upward trajectory. The Sacco has registered tremendous growth in both its membership as well as its asset base. With over 2000 active members and over 400M asset base, the future can only be brighter for the SACCO.
